Birthdays
in fourth grade are a monumental day! I want each child to be able to celebrate
their birthday in the classroom and share their fun and excitement with their
classmates. Please let me know a week or so before your child's birthday and we
will coordinate a date and time to have the celebration. Although your child's
celebration may not occur on their actual birthday we will try to coordinate it
for as close to the actual date as possible! During your child's birthday
celebration parents are more than welcome to come in and bring a special treat
to share with the class. We also ask that you bring a small drink for the
students such as juice or water since soda is not permitted at Laurel Hill. At
Laurel Hill we encourage healthy eating and ask that only one sweet treat be
brought in for the class to enjoy. As always goody bags are allowed however, we
ask that no treats be included in the bag and small toys, pencils, erasers and
other small fun items be used instead. Please be sure to bring in enough goodies
for each child in the class as we do not want anyone to be left out of the
festivities.
During our birthday celebration the students will enjoy the treat and participate in a small class game. Birthday parties usually last 15-25 minutes. I ask that no real candles be used during our celebration as they can be a cause for concern. We may use fake candles or blow out our candles as we imagine the flame being distinguished. Each child will get to make a wish as they blow out the candles. I hope all of the children's dreams and wishes come true! I look forward to 4N's rendition of "Happy Birthday to You" and enjoying a Birthday Celebration with each and every child in the class.
I do not want to forget about summer birthdays or birthdays that occur during a vacation or holiday! We will celebrate each child's' birthday this school year.
* If your child would like to send home invitations for birthday parties in the home folders at school I ask that each child in the class is invited. Since, I know that is not always possible, I ask that you send out invitations on your own if you can not include each child in the class. We do not want to hurt any ones feelings in the class. If each child is invited please send them in with a small note asking us to place them in the folders and we will gladly help! Thank you for your cooperation with this! *
